JNDC Design Presented at Aircraft Interiors EXPO Hamburg

JNDC have been working with Blue Sky Designers for the past year on the SleepSeat designed to maximise space and comfort in the tight confines of economy seating.
The extra space has been achieved by moving the aft beam higher allowing free access to otherwise inaccessible space under the seat in front. Meanwhile the forward beam has been lowered, allowing the seat to incorporate a mechanism that moves the seat pan forward and downward, permitting up to 6in more leg-room and increasing the rake of the inside back to allow up to 40 degrees of recline to facilitate sleep.
The SleepSeat was presented at Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg the world′s largest exhibition exclusively concerned with interior design. The expo was a good platform to show the latest model to a wide audience and gain feedback from professionals in the industry.
SleepSeat is due to shortly undergo 9g and 16g testing. Further work is needed to reduce the its current weight of 10kg.
